Recent adventures

This past week we have been out and about, making our usual appearance at the greenhouses to place our flower orders, hanging out at home with Brody, and trekking to Atlanta for Melear Christmas and meeting more of the family.  It sure has been busy!

Holiday Spirit

Today Chloe and I braved the masses to make a few key Christmas purchases.  She was quite the trooper, and even endured the second trip into World Market when I realized in the parking lot, post-purchase, that I forgot to use my $10 off $50 purchase coupon.  Just couldn't let that one go!  Special thanks to the cashier who was very helpful and didn't require me to bring the bags back into the store for the adjustment.  In the end, we made it home safe and sound with stockings for Chloe and Brody, and a couple small gifts to boot.  Shopping trip success!

Here's the holiday look around the house tonight.

The stockings all hung from the armoir with care...
(one day we'll get that mantle for the chimney!)

Modeling Aunt Jamie's outfit for Brody

Earlier this week we met our friend Marybeth for lunch at the Blue Turtle Bistro.  We highly recommend the chicken salad pita and the bacon cheddar potato salad!

And lastly, Brody in a self-induced time out after getting a hold of one of Chloe's hats.  One the plus side, he did drop it right away once he was caught!

It's already mid-December??

I totally believe the "old" people who talk about how fast the time flies.  Christmas just two weeks away, and then another year is in the books.  Jeff has pulled out the decorations, and we bought our first tree in five years.  I love lighting holiday scented candles, turning on the white lights and leaving everything else dark, it creates such a warm and cozy feeling.  And since our house is so shaded, I can even turn them on during the day while I work at my make-shift desk on the dining room table.  One thing I've learned with this rapid progression of the days is to take out the camera more often.  Capturing the ordinary moments of our days and witnessing the progression of little Chloe's growth will be priceless in the years to come.

Here are a few shots of Chloe's first night out on the town:
